Weathersmart data is stored in a Microsoft Access file:
The database file is stored at C:/users/public/weathersmart/easy2300.mdb
- You can open this file directly using Excel.
- MAC the Weathersmart data is stored in a SQLITE database file in the Weathersmart folder.
- The filename is “easy2300.sqlite”. There are resources for accessing this file at sqlite.org and sqlitebrowser.org.
- There are ODBC drivers available for Excel to read the sqlite database file.
Typical battery life for the solar powered sensor array is 2+ years, and for controller is 1 year.
We changed the location of the anemometer from the bottom to the top of the sensor array around March 2019. We did this to improve the accuracy of the wind speed measurement.
We recommend using only Ever-Ready Lithium batteries or equivalent AA batteries in cold temperatures.
- Remove the batteries from the outdoor transmitter and display console. Cover the solar panel temporarily.
- Power up the transmitter with new batteries and uncover the solar panel.
- Wait 10 minutes then power up display.
- Do not press any buttons during the 1-minute power up time.
You should then have outdoor readings after about 3-5minutes.
Open the rain gauge housing by unsnapping the cover. Check inside to make sure there is nothing obstructing the movement of the mechanism. It is common for insects to nest inside.
This occurs when the rain gauge vibrates in high winds. Consider moving it closer to the ground and to a more stable mounting platform.
The original units had a display with a green backlight. We changed the display type around December 2018 to a new display with illuminated digits on a bluish background. This type of display is easier to see in all kinds of lighting conditions. Since the display must be powered up via the 5V adapter to enable the WiFi functionality, it made sense to change to a display so that it was easier to read.
Relocate the temperature sensor/transmitter to a shady spot or provide local shade for it.
The rain gauge may freeze up in winter. The ice/snow will not damage the rain gauge and it will start working again after it thaws.
Yes, we do. Replacement parts are available for sale on our website “https://tyconsystems.com”
Use an automotive lock de-icer spray. Only a couple of short sprays are required.

The TP3000WC ProWeatherStation Console can run on 3 AA batteries and the included AC adapter. To enable the Wifi functionality the unit must be plugged into the adapter. The batteries can be installed in the unit also to act as backup power.
-The Outdoor Sensor array runs on a total of 2 AA batteries but is mostly powered by solar so the batteries last a real long time.
-The connection between the sensor array and controller is wireless.
-The connection between the Display console and the computer is via the Wifi connection.
-The controller connects to your wireless router and the computer connects to the wireless router via WiFi or Ethernet cable.
The ProWeatherStation is very simple to set up and operate. It comes with simple instructions to get up and run in about 30 minutes.
- TP3000WC: The system runs on WiFi so only a wireless router is needed.
A smartphone or tablet is needed for initial setup. A computer is not needed.
- TP2700WC: A computer is not needed to use the Pro Weather Station for monitoring weather or setting alarms. If you desire to do any data logging for long term tracking of weather trends then a computer with a USB port is needed in order to download the base station memory when it gets filled up. You only need to connect to the computer to setup and when the memory gets full. For all other times the controller can be mounted to a wall in another room or sitting on a desk or table.
The ProWeatherStation can support multiple Consoles, but only one outdoor transmitter.
On the TP3000WC, if the display console is powered using the AC Adapter, the back light will stay on continuously.
On the TP2700WC the back light is temporary. It cannot be set for full time operation.
The TP2700WC Pro Weather Station stores 4080 data sets in its memory. The sample rate can be set by the user with 16 sec. intervals as a minimum. When memory on the device gets full, you need to download the data to the computer or else the display console will overwrite the data, overwriting the oldest data first.
Downloading is done automatically when the unit is attached to the computer through the USB and the Weather Smart software is started. The amount of data you can store on the computer is unlimited. The Weather Smart software can display the data in various graphs, or it can be exported to Excel if desired for analysis.
For the TP3000WC, the data is meant to be stored online at one of the popular weather sites like Weather Underground. Storing the data in the cloud has many advantages:
- You can access the data from anywhere in the world.
- There is unlimited storage.
- The data is securely stored to avoid loss.
- TP3000WC: Because of the new integrated sensor design there are no wires to manage.
- TP2700WC: Yes, you can shorten the cables, but we recommend just using the cable ties that come with the system for proper cable management. The cables can be extended up to 50′.
NOTE: If any cables are modified, we will not be able to accept any returns for warranty.
The TP2700WC ProWeatherStation data can be published online using the WeatherSmart software.
WeatherSmart allows publishing of real time data on “http://wunderground.com/” Weather Underground.
The TP3000WC ProWeatherStation Display console sends data to the most popular weather services directly through it’s WiFi connection to your wireless router.
Weather underground supports rapid-fire real-time data update.
The Pro Weather Station also supports uploads to WeatherBug and WeatherCloud.
The TP3000WC comes with an AC adapter to power the display console and enable a WiFi connection.
The TP2700WC display console can be powered using a USB cable connected to an AC powered USB charger or with a 5V AC adapter.
