Grounding a RemotePro and UPSPro system

Grounding our solar systems aren’t required. As long as the mounting pole is grounded, it is okay. If mounting a system to a pole or a location that isn’t properly grounded, it is recommended to install a grounding rod and wire for the system. Over the course of Tycon’s history, we haven’t had much issues regarding not grounding the system. The main reason to ground the system is to protect against electrical surges from lightning strikes or static buildup on the solar panels.

Our solar controllers have safety features to prevent electrical surges from static build up. Overall, grounding would just provide added protection to your solar system.

Note:  Any grounding rod and wire from your local hardware store will work fine.
