Description
The TP-POE-18G, offered by Tycon Power, is a top-tier midspan power Poe Injector source built for reliable, long-term operation—even in the most demanding environments. These devices accept data input through a shielded RJ45 jack and deliver both surge-protected data and power through a shielded RJ45 output jack. They effectively supply power to remote devices via the unused Ethernet pins 4,5 (V+) and 7,8 (V-). For the “R” model, the voltage is reversed—pins 4,5 (V-) and 7,8 (V+). Furthermore, the Ethernet specification supports distances of up to 100m (328 feet), ensuring wide compatibility and versatility in various network setups.
Additionally, the units are autoranging, which means they seamlessly accept AC inputs ranging from 90VAC to 264VAC (50/60 Hz) and provide regulated DC voltage output. This adaptability to different power environments enhances their utility. They are equipped with multiple protective features, such as surge, short-circuit, overload, and overvoltage safeguards, ensuring long-term durability and reliable performance. The medium power model delivers up to 24W output, with 18VDC output and load regulation within 5%, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
Notably, the CI model includes a current-sensing LED that conveniently changes color when a PoE device is plugged into the CAT5 cable. This feature adds an extra layer of convenience, allowing users to easily verify the connection status of their devices. If the remote device does not support Power over Ethernet, you can easily split the data and DC voltage using PoE splitters (POE-SPLT-S), ensuring flexibility in your network setup. Additionally, for devices that require reverse voltage, the POE-XOVER cable offers a simple and effective solution.
